Feature: Always Open Lots

8th June 2025

Welcome to a LegacySO feature! These posts are designed to help you learn more about some of the great things we have in store for you over in LegacySO. The first of these features is what we’re calling ‘Always Open Lots’.

Special officially hosted lots in LegacySO are designed to help new players get off the ground whilst keeping opportunities available when certain lot types may be offline. This will be especially useful in the very early days, when there may not be many player-hosted lots available yet.

This means, even when the host is offline you’ll be able to join the lot and play so that there’s always something to do. Our always-open-lots are designed to meet the basic requirements, and nothing more. This is so players are encouraged to start their own lots and compete to do the very best that they can.

The best part is, all of our featured lots are available to access from the Town Hall (you can read more about that though below).

Here are some of the lots you can expect to find in-game (with more to come):

Simland Ilses Town Hall

Town Hall community lots were common in FreeSO, here we have taken the idea and merged it with our always-open-lots to give you a central hub that you can use to teleport to any of our available houses. The town hall will also act like any other town hall, in that you can be elected Mayor and host your own events here, should you wish.

Crumplebottom Lodge

If it wasn’t obvious from the name, this cosy home is hosted by Agnes Crumplebottom. Don’t worry, she won’t be home when you visit. It looks like it hasn’t been decorated for several decades, but this Service lot will always be open with basic amenities to help you prepare for exploring the rest of the Isles.

The Public Library

This established public library offers all the resources you could need to brush up on your cooking skills, your next big speech, or your classical music practice. There’s not much in the way of amenities to help you recover when you get tired, but it is public property, after all!

The Goth Economic Warehouse

Everyone has to get a first job someplace, in this case – it’s an old re-purposed warehouse. But it’s filled to the brim with objects that can make you money. If you can overlook the drab interior, there’s a pretty penny to be made here. Watch out for the rats.

We hope the inclusion of always-open-lots will be helpful to the community so that players can have a place to gather and commune in the event of a quieter period, especially as the server grows. We’re always interested in player feedback on how we can improve and for other ideas on making LegacySO the best it can be.

If you haven’t already, why not consider joining our Discord server so you can get involved in the conversation?

I can’t wait to share more news about LegacySO soon, including how you can pre-register for access to the game.
