Welcome to the first official LegacySO blog post! For those who have visited our website before, some of this was on our homepage. We wanted to give you a dedicated place to find updates relating to the official server. So – here you go!
A brand new server means a brand new world to explore and live in. The goal was to create a world large enough to house future expansion and players, yet also be a somewhat familiar setting to those who have played FreeSO before.
Presenting to you, the Simland Ilses:
“Welcome to a brand new frontier. The Simland Ilses are an archipelago based due North-East of Sunrise Crater. After the Crater became uninhabitable following a cataclysmic event, Sims needed a new place to settle. Some come from the Crater, and others are brand new to the region. With beaches, rolling hills and the chilly peaks of its surrounding mountains, there’s space for everyone right here, on the Simland Isles.”
The Simland Ilses is the first city that the LegacySO server will house. In the future, we’d love to host more cities, but it’s important that players can interact, and having more than one city this early on could detract from that experience and make the game world feel smaller, and more quiet.
In LegacySO, it’s important that the game experience mirrors that of FreeSO and the original TSO as much as possible. As we expand our game-world, we will pay close attention to making sure all those little details, from city descriptions to lore-accurate updates, are presented to you in the highest quality possible.
The Simland Ilses is an upgrade of an original TSO map, with the inclusion of fifteen (yes, count them) neighbourhoods. Each one is designed to be unique, so that different types of players can enjoy different environments and role-play-friendly landscapes in which to design their dream home or business.
